Hello everyone and happy New Year!
Oh my gosh, it’s been so long since the last time I posted something here. I’m really sorry about that! Truth is I gave myself a proper time off these holidays to recharge and prepare for 2019. But I’m back and ready to share a new hack with all of you! Today I’m gonna tell you all about my new jumpsuit!
I’ve been going through a jumpsuit phase lately and after making my ponte Roma Abi Jumpsuit for New Year’s Eve, I really wanted to make another one, using a different pattern. For months I had been planning on creating a jumpsuit by combining 2 of my patterns, the Kimberly dress and the Rachel trousers. I knew it was going to be beautiful, I was just waiting for the perfect fabric.
When the time came for me to prepare my blog post for the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network, I knew that the time had come. One of my fabric choices was this stunning floral crepe fabric, which I originally saved for a Kimberly dress.
So I sat down one morning and made my plan. I did a little sketch to help me decide whether I wanted to keep the waistband and once I made up my mind, I started writing down all the modifications I needed to do.
I won’t talk about them here, but if you want to find out more on what I did to create this beautiful (if I may say so myself) jumpsuit, you can head over to Minerva Crafts and read my blog post HERE.
What I can tell you though is that I am absolutely in love with it! I can’t wait to wear it with my red coat and red heels for a special occassion and as soon as spring comes, I am going to chop the sleeves off to make them shorter. It’s going to be the perfect statement piece in my wardrobe!
I hope you liked this little experiment. The patterns I used are available in my shop (click HERE for the Kimberly dress and HERE for the Rachel trousers)
If you try this hack yourselves, make sure you tag me on Instagram @athinakakou. I’d love to see your versions!
Until the next time, happy sewing!

Beautiful Athina the fabric and I love the waistband with it! It is such a beautiful jumpsuit.
Thank you so much, Robina!
