A few weeks ago a beautiful little package arrived at my doorstep! It was the cutest parcel I’ve ever opened because it was full of this adorable and colorful doughnuts!
When I posted them on my Instagram many of you wondered what they were! Well, my sewing friends, they are pattern weights! What???
Before I got them, I used all sorts of things to cut my patterns correctly. Sometimes a jar filled with buttons, other times a glass of water (yes, there have been accidents!) other times books and magazines. Basically, whatever I could find near me! But having these cute accessories to do the same job AND brighten my day has been amazing!
Not only they are super useful for any seamstress but they add a pop of color to my photos haha 🙂
You basically put them on your pattern piece and they prevent it from moving around, so you can cut your fabric more accurately! No more trouble, especially when you have to cut a slippery fabric, right?
They arrived beautifully packed in a small box. I left them there for a few days until my mom gave me this beautiful bowl (it’s decorated with decoupage and has flowers and glitter on it, perfect for me!)
I bought them from a lovely Etsy shop called “Oh Sew Quaint” and they are handmade by Danni, a fellow seamstress. Danni’s shop if full of many adorable accessories like these, including macaron pattern weights, fondant pattern weights etc. I want them ALL!
The doughnuts are made of polymer clay and each one weighs approximately 20g. The set I chose has 12 doughnuts. I think they make a perfect gift for yourself or your sewing friends, don’t you?
Have a crafty weekend,
Athina
