I’m lucky enough to own a few sewing machines that I purchased over the years. This is one of the most frequent questions I’m asked, so I thought I’d share them with you here.
I started sewing on a very entry level sewing machine that I bought from Lidl. It was a silvercrest machine that proved to be very durable, after all these years it’s still working fine (considering it costs around 90 euros, I’d say it’s a very nice machine for beginners, if you can’t afford anything more expensive).
The next sewing machine I got was the Husqvarna E10, another entry level sewing machine but this time from a well known brand. I loved this machine, I’ve spent so many hours with her and she’s still on my sewing table at our spare room.
Around the time I got this, I also invested in an embroidery machine for Craftaholic, the Husqvarna Viking Designer Topaz 30. I am only using her for embroidery and she’s great, although quite expensive for a beginner.
Last year I decided to upgrade my E10 and purchased a Husqvarna Viking Opal 670. I’m very satisfied with this one, it’s an electronic machine with many great features that made my sewing so much easier.
Last but not least, I own a serger, the Pfaff 1230OL, also purchased from Lidl. It works fine for my needs right now, although one day I want to upgrade and also add a coverstitch machine to my arsenal.
