Spring is here and it’s time to announce the release of another pattern in my collection: the Adriana Skirt! I am a huge fan of skirts in any shape or form, so adding a skirt pattern to the mix has been one of my goals for 2019.
The Adriana skirt is a flattering, high-waisted skirt with beautiful pleat details on one side. Her gorgeous silhouette will flatter every shape, cinching you in at the waist before skimming out over the hips.
Version 1 features a beautiful, pleated panel that extends over your natural waist and adds a touch of elegance to the garment. Version 2 includes a simple waistband for a more casual look. Both versions close with an invisible zip in the back and sit below the knee.
This incredibly versatile pattern will take you through every season. Depending on the fabric you choose, it can look completely different. Make the Adriana in a crisp cotton lawn and it will be the perfect skirt to wear all summer long or choose a lightweight wool to stay warm and stylish during the colder months of the year.
Like all my patterns, the Adriana Skirt is available in sizes UK 4-28. You can have a look at THIS blog post to see it on many other people of all ages, shapes and sizes.
It is a project aimed for advanced beginners and it will teach you lots of useful techniques, such as constructing the pleats, attaching a waistband or inserting an invisible zip. It will be the perfect pattern to tackle if you want to up your sewing game or a quick sew for the more experienced seamstress.
The pattern is now available in my shop as a PDF download. Two printing formats are included, an A4/US letter size to print and assemble at home and an A0 file to send to a copy shop.
I hope you love Adriana as much as I do. If you make your own version, don’t forget to tag me @athinakakou or @akpatterns and use the hashtags #akmakers #akpatterns #akadriana for everyone to admire your beautiful skirt.
