Hello everyone! For the past 2 years I’ve been participating in Me Made May, a challenge that I really enjoy following on Instagram. This year is no exception and I thought it would be nice to document my outfits here, as I often like to go back and see how my style has evolved as time goes by.
If you haven’t heard about Me Made May, click here to read all about it from Zoey, who started the challenge 10 years ago.
My pledge this time is no different than the previous years. As I am going through a very transitional and demanding period in my life, having just moved to a new city AND started a new 9-5 job as a Marketing Specialist, I decided not to add any extra pressure and just go with something easy: I pledged to wear at least one handmade garment every day.
So, here is my first week of Me Made May 2019 (I apologize for the quality of the images, most of them were taken with my phone and its camera is not the best)
Day 1: May 1st is a big holiday for Greeks. Tradition has it that we go outside, barbecue and have fun. This year we spent this holiday with my mom’s side of the family at my village, Dragasia. It was VERY cold though and I wore all the layers. A striped Sheona top, hacked to have a slashed neckline (tutorial here), a long cardigan and jeans from H&M and a vintage denim jacket.
Day 2: We went out for lunch and so I had the chance to dress up a little. I wore my highwaisted pair of jeans with the Pussy Bow Blouse I made a few months ago. Love this outfit!
Day 4: We went out for coffee with our friends, so I wore an oldie but goodie: my Ella blouse, which I’ve made a few years ago but lengthened a bit to make it less cropped.
Day 5: Headed back home so I wore the same outfit as day 3 to stay comfortable for the trip.
Day 6: First day back to work and I was longing for a dress! The weather was still indecisive, so I opted for my jersey Thea dress, paired with ankle boots and my vintage denim jacket.
Day 8: Only one handmade item today, my grey Nikki cardigan, worn over some RTW trousers that I’ve had for ages and a RTW top.
See you next week!
