Hi everyone! Gosh, it’s been a while since I last wrote on the blog and I’m really sorry for that. As you probably already know, we are in the process of moving to another city and things have been totally manic.
Sewing has been my safe haven during this time. I can immense myself in a project and not think about packing, searching for houses or any of the other issues that come up when you are moving. My sewjo is definitely here, stronger than ever, and I want to make all the new clothes for spring and summer.
One of the projects that I completed this month was a blouse. I don’t tend to wear many blouses in my day to day life and the style of this one was a little bit out of my comfort zone. But, I’m very happy I chose to make something different because I really, really loved the finished garment.
Everything started when I saw the new Lisa Comfort Fabrics on the Minerva Crafts website. Having used her cotton lawns last year, I really wanted to try out the winter collection as well. I really liked both the print and the different colorways and the fact that they were crepe fabrics made me think that they would be perfect for Spring.
I picked the Silver colorway with the intention of making a blouse of some description. My inspiration was Lisa’s Pussy Bow Blouse that she made using the same fabric. I recently got a pair of high waisted jeans that would be perfect to pair with a loose-fitting blouse.
The construction went very smoothly, however I have some major fitting issues with this blouse. Which is very unfortunate, because I love it so much!
I have written a full pattern review that is exclusive to the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network, so I will direct you there now to read more about my blouse if you want to.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my new make 🙂
