A few months ago I decided to try out some of the fabrics from Girl Charlee, a British online shop that specializes in knit fabrics. I had heard so many great reviews for their products and since we don’t have access to very cute knits here in Greece, I felt like a kid in a candy store when I saw their collection.
It was pretty hard to choose my favorites, but I ended up with 4 of their cutest, in my opinion, designs! I received my parcel in only a week, so the shipping was extremely fast! When I opened the parcel and touched the fabrics, I realized why everyone was speaking so highly of this company! They were soft, their quality was great and they washed fine.
So, here’s what I made with them! I think you’ve already seen these clothes by now, as I made them a few months ago, but I figured it’s nice to put them all together in the same blog post.
Next up, I used this blush pink fabric that has little bows on it to create a body-con style dress. To do that, I hacked the Tilly and the buttons Agnes top by simply adding around 45 cm extra to the length. Needless to say I’m in love with it!
My fourth make unfortunately wasn’t as successful as I wanted. I made an Ultimate Wrap Dress (pattern by Sew Over It) using this pink knit fabric with black hearts on it. The pattern suggests to use medium to heavy weight knit fabrics and this was definitely a light weight knit, so the dress doesn’t have the structure it’s supposed to have. I always have to be careful not to flash anybody, haha! Other than that, this fabric was easy to work with! I just should have picked a more suitable pattern 🙁
Last but not least, I made a Paola top (pattern by Named Clothing) with this adorable grey knit with pink hearts! I am in love with this top, so easy to throw on, washes out well and is very breathable!
So, these were all my makes with fabrics from Girl Charlee. They are currently having a HUGE sale, so I might take advantage and do some more fabric shopping! If you are looking for great quality knits, this is the place to look for!
