You often ask me how I manage to be so productive and make so many garments every month! This is a question I got several times and my only answer is one! I try to be as efficient as possible with my free time and organize everything so I can be productive! This is the only secret! (Well, the fact that I don’t have kids yet obviously helps, haha!)
The story behind the Ultimate Sewing Planner
I started using binders to plan everything -from my personal life and hobbies to my business- back in 2014. It really changed the way I do things! It helps me stay on track and not feel overwhelmed! Most of the time anyway, as we are all human and I fall into this trap sometimes. I have tried many ways to stay organized but the electronic thing doesn’t work for me. I am a paper fan and I’ll always be! I need to have everything written down, use my colorful pens and silly drawings, post it, washi tape and those bits and bobs that stationery lovers can’t live without!
As we are getting closer to the end of 2017, I found myself looking back to everything I’ve accomplished in my first year of sewing my own clothes! I look at everything I learned, my sewing fails, my mistakes. And it was so nice to have all of them written down in my little notebook and be able to look back and contemplate! What I realized though, is that this year I need a separate binder for my sewing. Last year I tried keeping a bullet journal for it, which ended up being used for various other things. I also used to write sewing related stuff on my business binder and in the end everything was scattered here and there!
So, I decided to create the Ultimate Sewing Planner for 2018 and I tried to include everything a seamstress needs to organize her sewing for 2018. I’m very happy with the result! Since it was launched, a few days ago, I’ve received some amazing comments and the response has been overwhelming!
What it contains
This planner has 56 pages that you can print as many times as you want and it includes not only the “traditional” project planning pages. There are also pages that will help you organize your pattern stash, pattern wish lists, pages dedicated to all the challenges in social media (like #sewmystyle) so you can keep up with them and never forget the deadlines and what are you going to participate in etc.
I think it is truly a very useful planner! The fact that you can add as many pages as you want, means that you can keep it for years. You won’t have to buy a new one when it runs out of space, because it never will!
I won’t say much here, because I filmed a special video, where I’m showing you how I’m using the Ultimate Sewing Planner and what you can find in it. So, make sure you watch it to see if it’s something that works for you as well! Here it is:
