This month I was lucky enough to be among the testers for Nina’s new pattern release, the Southbank Sweater Dress! It was like if she was reading my mind because I was looking for something similar and her tester call came right on time! You see, I had just gotten some lovely knit fabrics from my favorite store, Tsagrinos.gr and I was dying to make something with them!
I opted for Version 1, which is a snuggly but also stylish sweater dress. The pattern includes two more versions, one for a hip-length top and one for a cropped sweater. The dress is designed to have a slightly oversized fit and it also features a funnel neck. To be completely honest, this is the first time in years I’m wearing turtlenecks! I usually hated them because I was feeling like somebody was choking me, but I decided to give them another chance and I’m actually beginning to like them more and more!
Anyway, back to the dress. I made a size 10 and used an animal print knit with medium stretch. I sewed it in a couple of hours, so it’s definitely a speedy make! The instructions were amazing and very detailed, like in all of Nina’s patterns so you feel like she’s guiding you every step of the way (always a plus, even if you are an experienced seamstress!)
I have some fabric left and I think I’ll make a sweater out of this! This is also my first animal print garment, I’ve never worn anything like this, haha! I totally recommend the Southbank Sweater pattern! If you liked it as much as I did, you can get it with a 10% discount (applies to both the printed and the PDF pattern) with the code ‘southbank10’
