Hello everybody! It’s this time of the month again, the time to share my fabric purchases! Every seamstress is addicted to fabric shopping and I can’t be the exception. Luckily, I’ve found an amazing shop, Tsagkrinos fabrics, based here in Greece, where I can choose from a huge variety in really affordable prices!
This month I will start sewing some clothes more suitable for Spring and some basic clothes that I need in my closet. Let’s get started!
First of all, I have a nice “gingham” fabric that is quite structured and heavy. I plan to make a Clemence skirt from Tilly and the button’s book “Love at first stitch”. It is a simple gathered skirt that I think will look lovely in the warmer days!
In Tilly’s book I saw a photo of the Clemence skirt that is quite similar to the fabric above and is paired with a simple red top. Well, I will give this outfit a try and that’s why I picked the second fabric, a red jersey. I will make a top from the patterns I already own, either an Agnes Top by Tilly or a Molly Top from Sew Over It.
I have the same plans for the following fabric. It’s exactly the same with the red one, but in a dusty pink shade.
Next on the line is this gorgeous polka dot fabric. It’s very very lightweight and my initial plans were to make a Brumby skirt by Megan Nielsen. This plans may need to change though, because it might be too lighweight for that, we’ll see! I might may a Sew Over It Nancy dress as an alternative!
Moving on to the next one, a stretchy stiped fabric, quite heavy and I think perfect for a dress. I may make a Coco by Tilly and the buttons, to complete another one of my #2017makenine project or a Molly dress by Sew Over It.
The next fabric I picked up is a stretch denim in a bold print, quite unusual from the things I wear. I really love how it feels and I plan to make either a Cleo dress by Tilly and the buttons or an Ultimate Pencil Skirt by Sew Over It. I know it will make a great pair of trousers but after the adventure I had with them last month I’m not sure I’m willing to sew them up again so soon!
Last but definitely not least, I have a stretch floral fabric. I got 3 meters so I wanna make a dress out of it. I would really like to make a Moneta dress from Colette if I can 🙂
So that was it for this month! I will definitely need some time to make all these, so expect my next makes post in March 🙂
Let me know what you think about my fabric purchases and my plans. Do you have any other suggestions?Looking forward to reading your comments!
