Buying sewing patterns is definitely one of my vices. After going CRAZY during April and May, I decided to slow down and ban myself from buying any more. I did really good in June, I got only 2 patterns for my birthday and I haven’t bought any in July so far. I will definitely purchasing one or two this month, but this is nothing compared to the craziness of the springtime.
Today I thought I’d share some of my favorite picks for July, like I did back in May. Some of them are new releases, others aren’t and some of them I have already made. If I have shared a review of them on the blog, I’ll make sure it’s linked too.
Another lovely choice, which was one of my… birthday patterns, is the Laneway dress by Jennifer Lauren Vintage. It was released back in June and has some adorable features that make it stand out from other dresses, like its interesting collar. I can’t wait to make it!
I’m sure you have already seen the Penny Dress by Sew Over It. Seems like everybody is making a Penny these days. It’s a very easy shirt dress, I haven’t made it yet but I have the pattern all printed out and ready for me to sew it!
As we are talking about shirt dresses, I couldn’t leave out the Vintage Shirt Dress also by Sew Over It. I made this one for the #sewingtogetherforsummer challenge and I’m in love with it. You can see my detailed review here.
Seamwork magazine’s latest releases also caught my eye! The Veronica dress looks perfect, don’t you think?
Closet Case Patterns also released a pattern that seems to be very popular, the Charlie Caftan. Oh my God, how beautiful is it? I can see myself wearing it in so many different version. This one is definitely on my “to-buy” list.
Another dress I really like is the Molly Dress by Sew Caroline. Its interesting details at the back look great!
The last dress I wanted to share is the B6453, a pattern by Gertie which pops out everywhere I look these days. I already tried it and my first attempt was a disaster, because apparently I needed to make lots of alteration (including an FBA). It’s so popular though that I can’t give up just yet, I made the FBA on my pattern piece last week and I’m ready to give it another chance.
Moving on to the trousers, I have 2 choices. The first one is the Tierras Woven Joggers which I already made and you can read my review here.
Last but not least, I have a pair of Culottes. The Velo Culottes by Sew this pattern look stunning! Expect to see them soon here… I won’t say much 🙂
So, these were a few of my favorite patterns for July! Have you made any of them?
